It is possible to reach the Caspian Sea, which is normally landlocked, and to carry out transportations by sea transport over the Volga-Don river, which starts from Rostov and ends in Astrakhan, at certain times of the year. In general, in April-November, transports can be carried out when both the temperature and the required river depth (draft) become suitable. Between November and March, due to the extreme cold in the region, the river freezes and transportation is not possible.
We have complete ship loadings from all Black Sea, Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean ports with our OMSKIY and VOLGO BALT type vessels in our fleet with long-term contracts. We also have regular partial services from Marmara ports, limited to 1-2 trips per month.
The aforementioned ships are loaded up to approximately 3,000 tons by checking the weekly river depth.Transit time is aproximately 14-15 days for the transportations carried out from Marmara Ports over the Volga-Don river, and it is the most affordable of all transportation methods. In general, the discharge ports used in the Caspian Sea are Turkmenbashi and Aktau, and it is also possible to transport to the final delivery place upon the request of our customer.
